Why is this fascinating?
Of course, the initial pictures are drawn in pencil.
But then they ink it in pen.
The interesting thing is, it seems a few artists do in fact use pencils to for their final pictures.
I know my favourite artist, Tony Taka, draws and lines with pencils. And his works are fantastic. But I didn’t know it was so wide spread.
I tried emulating his style with the pencils, but my skill just doesn’t compare to his T.T His drawing arm is a lot more accurate and steadier it seems. But it seems like he uses those light boxes to be able to redraw his lines cleanly.
Or maybe he scans his pictures, lightens the sketch, changes the sketch colour (i.e. blue), then prints it out again to reline it with pencil?
Pencil’s are very grainy and that still doesn’t explain his clean pencil lines… or maybe it does? O.o
Well anyway, I’ll probably experiment with this, see what it comes up with. It may be faster than the way I’m doing it now, which is to line it in photoshop with paths… which takes about an hour, two tops.
meh, I’ll think about it. Right now I have to study for my maths exams.
